LastTime privacy policy
Effective November 7, 2026.
LastTime is developed by James Chen. Records are stored in a local-only database on your device. Health trackers, medication amounts, temperatures, and their full event history are excluded from the app's iCloud sync. Changing a health tracker's category does not remove that protection.
Optional iCloud sync is off by default. To sync non-health information, enable it in Settings and explicitly allow each tracker or finance record in its editor after reviewing its name, person, notes, and other fields. Existing and imported records start local-only. Do not include health information in records you approve for sync. Approved records are sent to a separate private CloudKit area for your Apple Account. LastTime does not upload records to the developer's servers and has no advertising, analytics SDKs, or app account registration.
Sync runs while LastTime is open and active, with a Sync now option. Enable it separately on devices using the same Apple Account. Turning sync off stops future cycles; an already submitted request may finish. It does not erase cloud copies or downloaded copies on other devices. On detecting a different Apple Account, the app turns sync off and clears local record approvals before that account can sync.
If a previously approved tracker becomes health-related, the app stops sharing its full tracker/history and issues content-free privacy revocations for its prior non-health cloud copies. Previously downloaded information can remain locally on other devices; on reconnecting, those copies are marked local-only. New health details are never included in the sync payload. Edits to the same record on multiple devices use revision ordering; separate event additions have separate identifiers.
If you used an earlier version with iCloud sync, it may have uploaded health information. LastTime pauses new syncing if it detects those older cloud copies. Before using the in-app removal action, download/export and verify all records using the earlier version, then close it on every device. Removal permanently deletes the older cloud copies, including any not downloaded; it does not delete this device's local records or separate exports. Earlier versions can upload again if reopened with their sync enabled.
The local record database, sync metadata, and recovery backups are excluded from automatic device backups. Keep separate exports of important information. You choose the storage provider for exported files; that provider's terms and privacy controls apply.
Voice commands
The microphone is used only when the user starts recording. LastTime uses on-device speech recognition when supported. Otherwise Apple's speech service may process audio after permission. LastTime does not save audio files. Users can edit the transcript and must confirm before saving a record. The original command is included in notes when saved. Users may type commands instead and revoke microphone and speech permissions in system settings.
Apple's Siri, Dictation and privacy information describes Apple's handling of speech data.
Export, recovery, and deletion
Users choose where to save or share exported backups and spreadsheets. Those files contain personal information, and the selected service's privacy terms apply. Before importing a replacement backup, removing duplicate records, or clearing records, LastTime saves a recovery backup on the device. It retains up to five recovery backups, which can be shared or deleted in Settings → Data & backups → Recovery backups.
When iCloud sync is active, replacing or deleting approved non-health records can affect other synced devices. Health records remain local. Turning sync off does not erase cloud copies. Exported files and local recovery backups are managed separately. To remove local information, delete records and recovery backups or uninstall the app; uninstalling does not delete iCloud records. Sync retains minimal identifiers and revision/deletion markers to prevent removed records from reappearing. These markers do not contain deleted record content.
